Training our team is paramount to the success of Tallman Group and we take satisfaction knowing that we have more Cummins certified technicians than any other Navistar dealership in Canada.

We completed six weeks of in-person training for 17 of our technicians from all of our dealerships in the ISX 871, ISB 6.7, and the ISX 15 litre engine platforms. Cummins held the training at the end of April at our Kemptville location, which is something we intend to do more of in the future. This means that our customers who buy a truck with a Cummins engine can continue to be assured of the support of well-trained service technicians.

We held a three-day Professional Selling Workshop in conjunction with Navistar in May. The course was taught by Michelle Cain, a well-respected training consultant with a strong background in the transportation field. This workshop is designed for our newer salespeople to help them raise the level of support they offer our existing and prospective customers. It includes ongoing follow-up by Michelle to help them put lessons learned into everyday use.

Furthering our commitment to our salespeople, we have enrolled Andy Gajda, Joe Loizzo, and Jason Liu in the Truck Marketing Institute program. This is an intensive three-part self-study course requiring over 100 hours of study that demonstrates the level of commitment they are showing to being the best they can be. Congratulations to Andy who completed the first module in record time!

Another group of parts technicians completed either year one or two of the Parts Technician Apprenticeship program at the end of May. We have already enrolled several new apprentices for the current program. We have also registered a record number of Truck and Coach Technicians in ITEP, which is a joint program with Navistar and Conestoga College in Guelph. This specialized training provides a select group of apprentices with levels one and two of the apprenticeship program along with Navistar On Line training and exposure to a concentrated ten-month program. Tallman Group knows the importance of developing the next generation of technicians and ITEP is an important part of this goal.

We look forward to building on the training successes of the past year as we continue to support our customers.
